April 7, 2009

The regular meeting of the Sylvan Township Board was held April 7, 2009 at 7pm at the Sylvan Township Hall, 18027 Old US 12, Chelsea, MI 48118.

Members present: Supervisor Lange, Treasurer Grau, Trustee Lesser and Cooper.

Absent: Clerk Koch

Also present: Hank Schoch, Tom Caplis, Corrine Sikorski, Michalene Pawlak, Jerry Jackson, Elsie Swanberg, Deneil Kolk.

The meeting was called to order and the pledge recited.

Motion by Lesser, seconded by Cooper to approve minutes as corrected. Carried.

Motion by Grau, seconded by Lesser to pay bills as presented. Carried.

 

No Public Participation

 

Zoning Inspector Caplis reported 2 zoning compliance permits, 1 certificate of occupancy and 2 enforcement actions for the month of March 2009.

 

A presentation was made to the board by Michelene Pawlak regarding WAVE.

Reports:

Treasurer Grau reported on CACA.

 

Trustee Lesser reported on the Neighborhood Watch.

 

Old Business: None

 

New Business:

 

Motion by Grau, seconded by Lesser to award the Lawn Care Contract to T & N Service, the same conractor as last year. Carried.

 

Motion by Cooper, seconded by Grau to approve the Election Inspectors as presented. Carried.

 

Motion by Lesser, seconded by Cooper, to table the request to combine parcels. Carried.

 

Motion by Grau, seconded by Cooper to approve the WCRC Agreement and give authorization to the Supervisor and Clerk to sign. Carried.

 

Motion by Lesser, seconded by Cooper to re-appoint Grau and Lange as Delegate and Alternate to CACA. Carried.

 

Motion by Lesser, seconded by Cooper to access the LOC from R. Cook Properties for the Chelsea Springs Development as R. Cook Properties Sylvan, Inc. has failed to perform its obligation and is in default under the term of the Chelsea Springs Phase I Development Agreement and/or the Second Amendment to the Chelsea Springs Phase I Development Agreement. Roll Call vote – all ayes – Carried.

 

Corrine Sikorski reported on WWRA and advise the board of the County Spring Clean Up to be held on May 2, 2009 at the Werkner Road location from 9-4 with a $10 donation.

 

Motion by Grau, seconded by Lange to adjourn.
