The regular meeting of the Sylvan Township Board was held May 9, 2006 at 7pm at the Sylvan Township Hall, 18027 Old US 12, Chelsea, MI 48118.

The following board members were present: Supervisor Williams, Clerk Koch, Treasurer Grau, Trustees Merkel and Solo.

Also present: Bob Lange and Earl Heller.

Meeting was called to order and the pledge recited.

Motion by Merkel, seconded by Grau to approve minutes as presented. Carried.

Motion by Grau, seconded by Koch to pay bills as presented. Carried.

No public hearings.

No public participation.

Zoning Inspector Lange reported 10 zoning permits and 2 certificate of occupancy issued in April.

Supervisor Williams reported he is in receipt of a new Interconnection Agreement from the City of Chelsea and has forwarded it to our Attorney.

Clerk Koch reported on CAFA. The Authority has submitted ballot language to the County Clerk for the August 8, 2006 election. The language is asking for up to 2 mills for operating for 5 years. The temporary office is on site and occupied.

Trustee Solo presented the Newsletter. Motion by Solo, seconded by Merkel to name the Newsletter “Sylvan Signal” and retain the current policy. Carried.

No Old Business.

New Business:

Motion by Grau, seconded by Solo to reappoint Scott Cooper to the Sylvan Township Water & Sewer Authority for a 3 year term. Carried.

The final 9 sewer hook-ups at lakes were reviewed. The board directed Supervisor Williams to consult legal counsel on 2 of the residences and no action was taken.

Motion by Koch, seconded by Merkel to adjourn.
